The activity room has been a life saver for my family and I.
Earlier the activity room I felt lost every bit to what to do with my kids. I had e'er searched online for things to practice with them and plant some great ideas simply I wouldn't follow through with them. That's mostly because I didn't have the supplies on hand and by the time I could make it to the shop I would accept long forgotten virtually that activity. If I really did get around to do the activity I would soon find out that it was too advanced for them and that would frustrate me to the core. It might sound crazy simply it seemed like I kept failing them which made me experience like a failure every bit a mother. Information technology was simply an countless bike of failed attempts and frustrations.
With the activity room I feel more organized, happy, and just a amend mom for my two kids. Now that I have the supplies, resources, support and activity experience, I feel that I tin can be more creative.

Sometimes the only way to stay sane is to go a piffling crazy
Corn Cob Painting Fine art Activeness for Kids:
I like to allow my kids go a fiddling messy with art so nosotros did a corn painting activity.
What You lot Demand for Corn Painting Art Activity:
- Uncooked corn on the cob
- Paper or styrofoam plates
- Big piece of butcher paper or paper roll
- Fall colored paints
- Painters tape
Setting up A Corn Painting Art Activity for Kids
Start I peeled the husks off of the corn.
Side by side, I covered our kitchen table with a large piece of newspaper roll.
Finally I poured different fall colored paints into paper plates.
This way the paint could spread out enough for the corn cobs surfaces to get covered.
I just let them scroll the corn in some paint then coil it on a sail of butcher paper.
Nosotros chose autumn colors for the fall flavor merely whatsoever colors would work wonderfully.
I really like using washable paint also.
It makes clean up a cakewalk and takes the stress out of the mess!
Brand Fall Art with Corn Painting Activity for Kids
I idea that this was a great sensory art activity for them!
Considering they could practice rolling and actually go the feel of the bumps on the corn and feel the squish of the paint between their fingers.
Parent Tip: For those of you lot that accept littles that prefer not to get muddy, you could attach corn holders to keep from getting too much pigment on their easily. Or even skewers would piece of work for sensory averted kids.
My kids absolutely loved this corn painting activity!
My daughter tried to eat the corn.
Of class, that would be expected.
Logan just had so much fun rolling it around.
The results of this fall art activity are perfect for thanksgiving decorating!
Why non use this as a backdrop for other thanksgiving crafts!
Or even use this as a tablecloth for your own thanksgiving dinner.
Even my husband got in on information technology. Which was really surprising. But because it's kind of a messy ane.
He's been getting a lot better (with messy activities) since we have been a part of the activity room for a while now.
He's kind of gotten used to the messes now. I continue explaining to him. It'south okay, we can clean it upward. It'southward not a huge deal if they make a mess.
Sometimes he still freaks out a little chip. I attempt to involve him as much as possible on these activities.
And, when we were doing the corn painting, he was like, "I want to endeavour. I haven't painted with corn before."
The corn art was merely fun. The process was messy. Everybody was laughing and, it was just a good fourth dimension.
Arts and crafts Thought for the Left Over Corn Husks afterwards Painting
Now nosotros couldn't let the corn husks become unused so we made a pinecone corn craft next.
We had pinecones left over from last Christmas and so we brought those out.
With a lilliputian color sorting we were able to find all the fall colored pompoms.
We used those pompoms to fill the gaps of the pinecone to resemble corn.
Once they finished filling all the gaps I had to help with attaching the husks to the top of the pine cone.
I used a hot glue gun to attach them to resemble peeled corn.
If you don't have husks considering you just want to try this activity and skipped the corn painting art, don't fret!
You lot could get a little creative by using raffia, shredded newspaper, or really annihilation that has a husk like wait.
Concluding thoughts from Nicole:
My daughter was built-in 4 weeks early. Due to complications in the commitment room she was experiencing some developmental delays from a head trauma that occurred during delivery.
We started seeing a physical therapist from Early Intervention. We told her well-nigh The Activeness Room and most some of the activities that we had been doing with her.
Her concrete therapist was so pleased with the piece of work that we had been doing with her.
She really only needed to see her to make certain that she was progressing because we were already doing everything that she would take wanted u.s. to do.
Now my girl is a twelvemonth quondam and they just gave us the good news that she is striking all her marks and no longer requires physical therapy.
